CARLA SMITH-RICKS, PA-C was born in Guyana, South America but has lived in Brooklyn all of her adult life. She attended Medgar Evers College where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Biology, then went on to Touro College where she pursued Physician Assistant Studies, and graduated with honors in 2004. Carla is board-certified and a member of the New York State Society of Physician Assistants. She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants in Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
Since 2004, Carla has been a Physician Assistant at Allergy & Asthma Care of New York. Her passion for patient care and desire to help people improve their health and quality of life has driven her into the field of Physician Assistant. Carla looks forward each day to going to work, and in her spare time she enjoys reading, music and music trivia.
ELIZABETH ROTHSTEIN, RPA-C earned an undergraduate degree in Anthropology from NYU and subsequently was a proud member of the third graduating class of Physician Assistants at SUNY Stony Brook School of Allied Health Professions.
A seasoned professional, Elizabeth has been with Allergy & Asthma Care of New York since 2007. She continues to be motivated by a genuine wish to embrace, personalize, and improve patient care. Her medical experience includes: Academic Geriatric Care, Academic teaching Hospital Emergency Department Surgical Trauma, Years as a Primary Care Provider in a multi specialty HMO, Pre surgical testing, Urology, Private practice, General Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Cancer. Since joining our Manhattan practice, Elizabeth has developed an interest in Esophageal Eosinophilia.
Elizabeth is a fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, a member of the New York State Society of Physician Assistants , American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI), American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI), the New York Allergy Society, and APFED.org.
AMBKA SABIKI, PA-C, a board-certified Physician Assistant, is a graduate of Wagner College, where she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in its accelerated five-year program. While there, she set up two elective rotations in Allergy & Immunology. Since her graduation in 2011, she has been working in the field of Allergy and Asthma and started working at Allergy and Asthma Care of New York in 2014.
Ambka is a member of The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, The New York Allergy and Asthma Society, The American Academy of Physician Assistants, and The New York State Society of Physician Assistants.
Ambka is from Long Island, New York and is a current resident of Manhattan, New York.
ROSE CAMPOMANES is a Registered Nurse at Allergy and Asthma Care of New York since 2011. She received her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Borough of Manhattan Community College in 2009. She then worked in various corporate health and wellness programs throughout New York City. Soon after, she became interested in allergy and immunology and decided to pursue it. She is also currently attending Hunter College for further nursing education in order to become an adult-gerontological nurse practitioner. She enjoys cooking, playing video games, and spending time with family and friends.
JUDY AURELUS, a Registered Nurse, is one of our newest staff members at Asthma and Allergy Care of New York. In 2013, she tutored students in anatomy and physiology for the Research Foundation of the City University of New York. She is also one of the six candidates at LaGuardia Community College’s Nursing Department to intern at Mount Sinai of Queens. Currently, Mrs. Aurelus is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Hunter College in order to fulfill her mission—empowering her patients to have a better quality of health.
MICHELLE MAHONEY, a licensed practical nurse in Manhattan has been a staff member at Asthma and Allergy Care of New York since 2010. Michelle is currently studying to be a Registered Nurse at SUNY Rockland and was a tutor for Anatomy,Physiology and Phlebotomy at Mandl College of Allied Health. Michelle has experience with alternative and complementary medicine and is always looking for ways to integrate her holistic approach with Western medicine. Her mission is to educate patients on how to improve their quality of life by better understanding their diagnoses and treatment regimen. In her free time, Michelle enjoys the performing arts – acting and dancing.
