And this year, according to experts, allergies are going to be worse than ever. “We’re seeing allergy symptoms become more severe and start earlier,” says Dr. Neeta Ogden, an NYC-based allergist. She and other doctors attribute this to environmental shifts and climate change. “What determines if there is more or less pollen is temperature, humidity or rainfall,” says Dr. Darryl Zeldin, scientific director at National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.
