Allergy Tablets
Allergy Tablets are approved by FDA for prescription in the USA and offered by Allergy & Asthma Care of New York. This type of immunotherapy works by having the allergy patient start therapy at least three months before allergy season begins. The process is very simple: patients dissolve a tablet under the tongue daily.
This type of sublingual (under the tongue) immunotherapy works by having the allergy patient start therapy about 12 weeks before the spring grass allergy season begins and then it is taken throughout the season. The process is very simple: patients dissolve a tablet under the tongue daily to treat symptoms related to grass allergies such as sneezing, runny or itchy nose, and watery eyes. Like traditional forms of immunotherapy, it is not a medication that gives immediate relief to grass allergy sufferers.
For Ragweed Pollen Sufferers:
This type of sublingual immunotherapy also works by having the NYC allergy patient start therapy about 12 weeks at least three months before the fall ragweed allergy season begins and then it is taken throughout the season. The process is very simple: patients dissolve a tablet under the tongue daily to treat symptoms related to ragweed allergies such as sneezing, runny or itchy nose, and watery eyes. Like traditional forms of immunotherapy, it is not a medication that gives immediate relief to ragweed allergy sufferers.
Please note: Currently, allergy tablets are only effective for grass pollen or ragweed allergies and cannot be used to treat multiple allergies at once.
